What the complaint alleges

This episode is about a Crow Wing County man.Here is what the criminal complaint says happened.

  • A motorist reported that a vehicle heading north on Highway 15 nearly ran eight vehicles off the road, nearly clipped a trailer and caused another vehicle to drive into the ditch.
  • The motorist pulled alongside and told the driver he should not be driving. The driver allegedly responded with slurred speech.
  • As officers approached, they allegedly saw the driver huffing from a can of compressed-air duster.
  • The complaint describes head tremors, a blank, straight stare, watery eyes and slurred speech.
  • He refused field sobriety tests, raised his voice and repeatedly threw his arms in the air, the complaint states.
  • Officers allegedly found three empty cans and one full can of duster in the vehicle, along with an empty vodka bottle.
  • A blood sample drawn under a search warrant showed an alcohol concentration of .183, according to the complaint.
  • He told officers he had "screwed up," according to the complaint.
