CAWPS is satire and parody. Episodes are dramatic reenactments. The characters are a cartoon crow and two fictional deputies. The deputies' dialogue is invented for comedy and is not a record of what anyone said.

Presumption of innocence

Episodes are based on criminal complaints, which are accusations. Nothing on this site is a statement that any person committed a crime. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The allegations summarized on each episode page come from criminal complaints in the public court record and published summaries of them. We do not publish names, photographs, case numbers or addresses.

AI-generated content

The artwork, animation and voices are generated with AI tools. No real footage, real voices or real likenesses are used.

No affiliation

CAWPS is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any law enforcement agency, court, government body, or television program. Links to government sites are provided for convenience.

Corrections and removal

If an episode is about you, if a case was dismissed or ended in an acquittal, or if we got a fact wrong, use the removal request form. Requests are free. We do not charge for removal and never will.

Privacy

This site sets no cookies and uses no outside tracking or advertising services. We count visits and video plays ourselves. For each one we record the page, the site you came from, your country and whether you are on a phone or a computer. We do not store your IP address: a scrambled value that changes every day lets us count a visitor once and cannot be traced back to you. If you send a form, we store what you typed and the country the request came from, and use it only to handle your request.
