About CAWPS
CAWPS is a satire series. Every episode starts with a real criminal complaint from the public court record. We take out the names and the faces, hand the lead role to a crow, and reenact what the paperwork says happened.
The rules
- No names. No faces. No mugshots. The suspect is always a crow.
- Public court records only. Each episode is based on a filed criminal complaint.
- Everything is alleged. A complaint is an accusation, not a conviction. Everyone is presumed innocent.
- The crow only says what the complaint says. The deputies' dialogue is made up. The allegations are not.
- Some cases are off limits. We skip anything involving children, domestic violence, sexual offenses, or someone being seriously hurt.
- Removal is free. If a case is dismissed, ends in an acquittal, or we got something wrong, tell us and we will update or remove the episode.
How episodes are made
The artwork and the voices are AI-generated. The animation is paper-cutout style. Nothing you see is real footage, and no real person is shown.

CAWPS is not a news outlet, a law enforcement agency, a court, or a background-check service. It is not affiliated with any television program.
