Out for Delivery
Police open a package of cocaine bound for a crow's workplace, take most of it out, tape it back up and deliver it themselves. Then they pull him over.
What the court record says
This episode is about a 40-year-old Minnesota man. Here is what the complaint and the sentencing order say.
- In June 2023, the Lakes Area Drug Investigative Division and the U.S. Postal Inspector's office began investigating suspicious packages coming from the Laredo, Texas, area to a business in Brainerd, according to court documents.
- On September 28, investigators executed a federal search warrant on a package bound for a Brainerd address and found approximately 163 grams of cocaine, packaged in a clandestine manner.
- Law enforcement returned approximately 68 grams of cocaine, mixed with a cutting agent, to the box to conduct a controlled undercover delivery.
- An undercover agent completed the delivery at the business, where the man accepted the package and then drove away with it.
- Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested him. They located a 9 mm handgun and residual amounts of cocaine in the truck.
- During a search at the jail, a small bag containing approximately 1.7 grams of cocaine was found in his possession.
- Investigators were aware the package was being tracked using internet addresses registered to a residence and a business owned by a second man, who was also charged.
- He pleaded guilty on February 10, 2025, and was sentenced to 32 months, all stayed for four years while he serves probation and pays a $135 fine.
This case ended in a conviction. The facts above come from the court record. The deputies' dialogue in the video is made up. The deputies stand in for the investigators and the undercover agent. The count of tracking checks, the matching tape, the mail-carrier disguises, the hug, the box bursting in the truck and the request to rate the delivery are invented. The court documents say the package was tracked from internet addresses registered to another man's home and business; they do not say who was at the keyboard. The crow has no subtitled line because the reporting quotes nothing he said.
